Overview

The Housekeeper may work in any location on premises. This individual cleans and keeps in an orderly condition facilities. The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below, but Saint Leo may identify other responsibilities of the position. These responsibilities may differ among accounts, depending on business necessities and client requirements.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Cleans offices, resident’s rooms, resident building, classrooms, schools, common areas, lavatories, halls, food service areas and any other areas that may require
  • Sweeps, mops, scrubs, polishes floors and vacuums hallways, stairs and office
    • Cleans light fixtures, ceilings and vents, walls mattresses, furniture, windows and window
  • Will be required to properly and safely use cleaning chemicals per manufacturer and saint Leo
  • Empties trash and garbage
  • Replenishes
    • May shampoo and clean carpets or buff and polish floors which will require the use of mechanical tools
  • May perform routine equipment maintenance and make minor
  • May drive a golf cart or other
  • Moves furniture and sets-up tables and
    • Notifies supervisor concerning need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating
  • Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and
  • Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely
  • Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard
  • Applies all applicable OSHA and related local safety requirements to all assigned
  • Performs all work in accordance with established safety
  • Attends training programs (classroom and virtual) as
  • Serves as lead Environmental Services
  • May be required to operate Xerox Equipment
  • Assigns and checks work of lower level
    • May be responsible for taking inventory and supporting product ordering process.
    • Assist in training
    • Maintains high standards for work areas and
    • Attends work and shows up for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity in light of Saint Leo’s time and attendance policy.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule
    • Must comply with any dress code
    • Must be able to work nights, weekends and some
    • Essential Personnel - may be required to work during weather and special events as designated by the University.

Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience is preferred
  • self motivated
  • Abilility to follow preodedures
  • Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus, with or without corrective
  • Significant walking or other means of
  • Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time {up to 8 hours).
    • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift/move 40
  • Generally in an indoor setting; however, may participate in outside activities and
    • Varying schedule to include evenings, holidays, weekends and extended hours as business
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is primarily in a controlled, temperate environment; however, may be exposed to heat/cold during support of outside
    • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to
      • Wears protective clothing and/or Personal Protective Equipment required by the work environment or governmental
      • Will be exposed to various cleaning

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate professionally in person, over the telephone, through email and other electronic means, move about the office and University, work outside, exposed to head/cold temperatures, work in moderately loud noise, and visually or otherwise identify, observe and assess.   The employee must be able to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally be required to lift up to 40 pounds.
